We All Need Angels

This Advent and Christmas made me keenly aware of the activity of angels. Angels were everywhere in the Bible stories throughout the last month. Angels announced babies in visits to Mary and Elizabeth, and Joseph and Zechariah. Angels told good news to the shepherds and gave words of warning to Joseph.

Without angels, would the shepherds have noticed anything special about Mary, Joseph and Baby Jesus? Would Joseph had known how to keep his family safe without the message of the angels? The angels unveiled a reality that Mary and Joseph would have never imagined, understood, or trusted.

Thankfully, angels are in more than the stories of the Bible. God loves us so much that He sends His angels to guard, guide, and protect us through various stages of our life. Although we may not immediately see that angels are around us, they are here at God’s direction.
