On the Heights of Assisi

On a hot summer day in autumn

Welcoming sun’s bright rays

On a hill overlooking the city

Known for its great healing ways

A soft breeze whispers so gently

The tall grasses dance gracefully

And I am renewed by your Spirit

Caressed by your boundless Love

The hills and the valleys rejoice

Reflecting your majesty

Clouds appear as angel’s wings

Suspended in skies of blue

And all of creation proclaims

Through the Artist’s masterpiece

That life is everlasting

And in You we find peace
