Every Tuesday morning, I get to do one of my favorite things. I have the blessed privilege of leading Morning Prayer on Benet Hall. Benet Hall is the assisted living residence for our elder Sisters. Praying with these holy women on Tuesday mornings gives me true joy and is always the perfect way to start my day.
There are many things I do in my full days as a Sister including coaching football and campus ministry as well as sitting on governing boards and tending flowers, but I know that prayer is the heartbeat of my life as a Benedictine. Nothing else would matter if it wasn’t rooted in prayer. I think that is why my Tuesday Morning prayer on Benet Hall is such a gift.
It is a gift to pray with my Sisters who have lived their vocations with faithfulness and love. I am inspired and humbled to be praying with women who have celebrated years and years of fidelity to the Benedictine way of life. It warms my heart to see their smiles and eagerness for the Work of God.
There is an old nursery rhyme poem that says “Tuesday’s child is full of grace.” I can testify to that. My Tuesdays are certainly full of grace thanks to praying with my Sisters on Benet Hall.
