Sister Jeanne Ann – Sunday Winter Wonderland

What a surprise I encountered as I looked out the Monastery windows!   The trees were decked in their finest Sunday, winter apparel.   What a spectacular, breathtaking array! As I joined the Community for Morning Prayer, I was so aware of some of the psalms and canticles:Give thanks to God who is so good, whose love is everlasting!  Bless the Lord, frost and cold,Bless the Lord, ice and snow,Praise and glorify God forever! After brunch, I put on my tall boots, winter jacket and pants and hat.  With camera in hand, I walked to our cemetery.

I reflected by the stations and by the pieta of Mary holding Christ who gave his all for us.

It was hard to leave this spectacular and awesome land of winter splendor.

Even though a picture is worth a thousand words, photographs cannot adequately capture the true magnificence and deep spiritual experience this was for me.
