Sister Jean Maher gave a presentation at a University for Seniors class at UMD on Tuesday, February 8. The topic was “Benedictines.” So Sister Jean introduced Saints Benedict and Scholastica to the group and then shared her journey into the community of St. Scholastica Monastery. She also showed the “Sing a New Song” DVD that speaks of the Sisters’ lives as Benedictines. The questions and comments from the group were wonderful. Some had very fond memories of +Sister Timothy, +Sister Mary Charles, +Sister Noemi, and Sister Johnetta. It was a freezing cold day outside, but the climate in that classroom was warm and welcoming.[Sister Jean Maher is the director of McCabe Renewal Center.]
