Golden Jubilarians

On Sunday, July 11, the Feast of St. Benedict, five sisters celebrated their 50th Jubilee of monastic profession.  During a Eucharistic Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel, these Sisters sang the Suscipe* and then signed the Renewal of Monastic Profession before their Community, family members, and friends.  Suscipe-2010Sister Gloria Ess, Sister Donna Schroeder, Sister Mary Rochefort, Sister Pauline Micke, and Sister Josine Krausnick sing the Suscipe*.      *    “Receive me, O Lord, according to your Word and I shall live; and do not fail me in my hope.” Ps.118[119]:116, repeated three times (with bowing and lifting up of hands) ending with the Glory Be, as described in the Holy Rule: chpt. 58).

Father Tom Radaich presided.  In his homily he spoke about these Sisters being different in the sense of being countercultural as they live out the Rule of Benedict, which is based on the Scriptures. Sister Lois Eckes, Prioress, and he thanked the sisters for their past ministries to the Church, and are  grateful for the continued sharing of their gifts. It was indeed a day of joy and blessings!
