Blessing of Our Renovated Monastery in Stanbrook West

“This is holy ground. We’re standing on holy ground, for the Lord is present and where God is is holy.
This is holy ground. We’re standing on holy ground, for the Lord is present and where God is is holy.”
                                                                                          – “Holy Ground” by Christopher Beatty

These beautiful words were sung during the recent blessing of the Sisters’ renovated Monastery in Stanbrook West. On January 4, 2023, Bishop Daniel Felton joined the Sisters in prayer and blessing of each new room in the renovated space. The service was led by Sister Beverly Raway, Prioress, and Community members and was a special ritual as they prepare to move into their new space in winter/spring 2023. The evening concluded with dinner and Bishop Felton sharing his words and blessings with the Sisters.

“Our humanity comes to its fullest bloom in giving. We become beautiful people when we give whatever we can give: a smile, a handshake, a kiss, an embrace, a word of love, a present, a part of our life...all of our life.”
–Henri Nouwen
