We all have heard the saying, maybe we’ve said it ourselves, No news is good news. More times than not, this saying is true. However, it is not true when it comes to the Good News. In the case of Good News, no news is never an option.
All of us who profess faith in Jesus Christ are to be sharing the Good News with the people of the world. What is this Good News, you might ask? It is the news that God has reconciled us to Himself, through His son, Jesus. It is the news of our salvation, or liberation from sin, brokenness, and estrangement from God. The Good News proclaims the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
I think many of us have forgotten that telling people about Jesus and sharing the Good News is not optional. It is a direct command. Jesus said, “Go, therefore and make disciples of all the nations” (Matthew 28:19). I can imagine Jesus spoke these words with arms outstretched, gesturing, and pointing to make it clear that He really meant it. After all, there is no news like the Good News!
“It is impossible for us not to speak about what we have seen and heard.” – Acts 4:20
