You Are There
Jayne Erickson, OSB (4/29/26)

Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence, O Lord?
Where can I go from your Spirit?
Where can I flee from your presence, O Lord?
If I go up to the heavens, you are there;
If I make my bed in the depths, you are there.
If I rise on the wings of the dawn, you are there.
You are there.

If I should find my way to the far side of the sea,
There you’ll be, your right hand holding me.
You’ll be my guiding light and through the darkest nights,
You’ll be there. You’ll be there.

You never let me go, companion at my side
Day by day, one moment at a time.
And when I feel alone, when I’m so far from home
You are there. You are there.

If I rise on the wings of the dawn, you are there.
You are there.
You are there. You are there.

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
–St. Benedict of Nursia, The Rule of Saint Benedict
