Sister Lisa – Loving Life

Life in the monastery is my rock and gives me meaning.  It is so cool to have the rhythm of our prayer life to keep me grounded.  I am so grateful to my Sisters for their holy example of faithfulness and dedicated prayer.  As a junior sister, I am in formation and therefore take a formation class with my director Sister Donna.  I am reading and studying our community and federation documents.  It is all so interesting and makes me so proud to be Benedictine.

My job as Parish Associate at St. Lawrence/St. Joseph keeps me hopping and gives me such joy and life.  My work is mostly consumed with education, homebound and liturgical duties.  I love my ministry with the homebound.  It is great to visit folks and I really like going to the living facilities each week to do Word and Communion services.  Of course I get a charge out of doing things with the young people.  It is always fun to visit Religious Education classes and I really like working with Mass Servers.  Anytime I get to speak with groups of people young or old I feel honored and blessed.  The liturgical things I do are always interesting and they challenge me to learn and grow in my understanding of the Catholic Church.  As you can see I am loving life these days!  Things at the monastery are going well as are things at the parish.  God is ever so good!
