Mardi Gras in the Monastery

For the 17th year, the Benedictine Health System staff hosted an annual Mardi Gras party for the Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery.  The BHS staff does this in continuing appreciation of the Sisters’ sponsorship of the BHS.

Dressed for the Occasion

The Sisters followed the traditional dress code and donned wild hats and mysterious masks and colored beads.

In the gaudily decorated Rochhurst Dining Room the Sisters enjoyed a variety of ten different kinds of pizza served by the BHS staff.  Afterwards, the Sisters sat back and enjoyed the entertainment of  T.H.U.G.  (Two Harbors Ukulele Group).  These musicians  presented the rare and unique sounds of  soprano, tenor, and baritone ukuleles, playing well-known and favorite songs and music.

This Mardi Gra party, as always,  exuded an atmosphere of mutual appreciation and respect between the Monastery and the BHS.

What better start to Lent than giving these gifts to each other?
