Wishing you peace, love, and joy this Christmas!

I’d Have Given You A Song
(Sister Jayne Erickson)

Sweetly sleeping on a bed of hay
In a manger ‘neath the stars, my Jesus lay.
Born of Mary, a virgin, born of God the King,
O Jesus, you’re more precious than anything.

If I had been a shepherd near Bethlehem that night
I’d have followed along to where you lay.
And if I’d looked inside the manger to see the glorious sight
I’d have given you a song for your birthday.

Sweetly sleeping on a bed of hay
In a manger ‘neath the stars, my Jesus lay.
Born of Mary, a virgin, born of God the King,
O Jesus, you’re more precious than anything.

Dear Jesus, so many years have passed since that night
When a star in the East became the guiding light.
And I am not a shepherd gazing at your bed of hay,
But I’ll still give you a song for your birthday.

Sweetly sleeping on a bed of hay
In a manger ‘neath the stars, my Jesus lay.
Born of Mary, a virgin, born of God the King,
O Jesus, you’re more precious than anything.
