Janet McKenzie is a true representative of how the interior soul becomes visible through art.  Her presence and sharing of her journey are signs of God’s peace and forgiveness.

On Saturday, October 29, McCabe hosted this humble and gentle artist.  Around forty guests came to hear Janet tell of her artistic journey.  She shared how some have misunderstood her paintings and have threatened violent actions against her.  Others are grateful for her portrayals which encourage inclusivity.  On display were twenty copies of her original oil paintings, greeting cards, and a book containing some of her paintings.

The event at McCabe and the evening event at Peace Church were artistic celebrations of the human spirit via art, music, and dance.
