Sunday, September 04, 2011 the Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery celebrated the new school year at The College of St. Scholastica by welcoming new and returning students and their families to Mass at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel. 
The Chapel was filled with joy and anticipation as members of the family of CSS joined the Sisters of the Monastery in praying for God’s blessing upon the academic year. At the end of the Eucharistic celebration Sister Lois Eckes, Prioress of the Monastery, addressed all gathered.
She stated that it is in our love for learning that we honor the heritage entrusted to us by past generations and discover new treasures that await. Sister Lois assured the students of the Sisters prayerful support and welcomed them to feel at home in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel. 
She encouraged them to find time in their busy college days to come to the sacred space and spend some quiet moments with God.
