Catechists Reflect on Psalm 146

On January 12, 2011 Sister Lisa Maurer, OSB facilitated a retreat for twenty-two Catechists from the parishes of St. Lawrence and St. Joseph.  The theme for the retreat was Hope in the Lord.  The evening of prayer, quite reflection and sharing centered on Psalm146:  Happy the one whose help is God, whose hope is in the Lord God

All involved in the retreat were grateful for the evening as one participant put it, “to slow-down and focus on God.”  Another Catechist found this time during the winter break to be “a great way to start the new year” and yet another said, “I enjoyed the calmness of the whole program.  It is very helpful to be reminded of the importance of having a stronger relationship with God and give a good tips and ideas for us to us with our students.”Sister Lisa Maurer ministers at the parishes of St. Lawrence and St. Joseph in Duluth.  She is a Benedictine Sister of the St. Scholastica Monastery in Duluth.

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
