The Monastery, The College, and Friends Come to Joint Lenten Vespers

Joint Lenten Vespers 2011

On Tuesday, March 29, 2011, Sister of  the St. Scholastica Community, faculty, staff and students from The College of St. Scholastica, and friends gathered in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel for Lenten Vespers.

The theme was “Create in Me a Compassionate Heart” and was carried out through readings mainly from Scripture, drama, and music, as well as quiet meditation time.

As we reflected on Christ’s great outpouring of love for us, we in turn are called to be people of compassionate hearts and lives. The recessional hymn was “Jesus, Remember Me.”

This service helped us to more fully enter into our Lenten journey with Christ from death to new life.
