Sisters Host Bishop Paul Sirba

On January 16, 2011 Duluth Bishop Paul Sirba joined the Sisters of St. Scholastica Monastery as their guest for evening prayer and supper. On behalf of the Community, Sister Lois Eckes, Prioress, welcomed the Bishop and expressed gratitude for his service to the Diocese.  Sister Lois conveyed appreciation for the support that Bishop Sirba shows the Sisters and the varied ministries supported and sponsored by the Monastery.  She then lead the Community in singing a prayer of blessing for Bishop Sirba.

In his remarks Bishop Sirba thanked the Sisters for their work in the Diocese of Duluth and for their support in his ministry as Bishop.  He assured the Sisters of his prayers for them, commenting that he especially remembers them when he prays his Rosary.  He then bestowed his blessing on all gathered.

Bishop Sirba surprised and delighted the entire Community with a gift of roses.  As he greeted each Sister, Bishop Sirba presented them with an individual rose.  He also gifted the Sisters on Benet Hall with roses and left a beautiful bouquet for placement in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel.
