Sister Jeanne Ann Weber – Spectacular Finale

Final Symphony of the SeasonAnd indeed it was, as attested by some of us Sisters who attended the last Duluth Symphony Orchestra performance of the season, complete with Bach, Baker, Poulenc’s Gloria, and Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Festival Overture. The Finale also included music for violin(s) and the DSSO Chorus. What a banquet!Music can deeply connect us to self, our true self, our emotional, passionate self, our best self – lifting and carrying us to greater cosmic awareness permeated with God’s very presence.I wonder what the final Spectacular Finale will be like – “of which we know neither the day nor the hour?”  And of which “eye has not seen nor ear heard.”

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
–St. Benedict of Nursia, The Rule of Saint Benedict
