Rooted in Faith

Blessed is the one who trusts in the LORD,
and whose hope is in the LORD.
For they shall be like a tree planted by the waters,
which spreads out its roots by the river,
and will not fear when heat comes,
but its leaf will be green
Jeremiah 17:7

Our spiritual life must be like a tree.  The roots of our faith must go deep that they may bring stability and promote growth.

Deep roots of faith save us in times of distress.  Even when things in our life are chaotic and out-of-sorts, we can take comfort in the fact that we are rooted in faith.

Deep roots of faith save us in times of confusion.  Even when things are hard to understand and we seem lost, we can take comfort in the fact that we are rooted in faith.

When we are rooted in faith we will stand when the storms of life hit.  The wind may blow and the rain may come but we will not be shaken. When we are rooted in faith we can weather any storm because we realize God is in control. When we put our trust and faith in God, we will know his strength and protection.  God will bless us with great riches of nourishment that lead to fruitful growth.

There is so much that God wants to give us – wisdom and guidance, peace and joy, forgiveness and freedom. So come to God and live rooted in faith!

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
–St. Benedict of Nursia, The Rule of Saint Benedict
