The Monastery’s oldest member, Sister Thea Sandusky, OSB, celebrated her 103rd birthday on Friday, June 3, in Benet Hall. She was fêted by the staff and other Sisters of Benet Hall and as many of the other Sisters of the Community as were able to attend the afternoon party.Sister Lois Eckes, Prioress, led the Sisters and staff in a prayer of thanksgiving for and blessing of Sister Thea.
Special guests were Kathy McQuinn, Mike Hogan, and Theresa Swanstrom, who among other professionals from Essentia St. Mary’s Hospice and Paliative Care regularly visit Sisters on Benet Hall.Sisters were served birthday cupcakes both chocolate and white, Snickers ice cream bars, “pop”corn puffs, Bugles, and other good treats.
