Monastery Open House

October 10, 2010, the Monastery hosted an Open House and Reception for family and friends in the tri-state area.  It was a beautiful sunny day, and over 150 guests came to visit and tour the Monastery and grounds.  Sister Lois welcomed all, and she and Sister Teri Spinler sang a modification of the words from Philippians: “We thank our God, each time we think of you, and when we pray for you, we pray with joy.”

And when we pray for you, we pray with joy!

Guests review new history panels that will soon be installed on first floor.

“Listen carefully, my child, to your master's precepts, and incline the ear of your heart. Receive willingly and carry out effectively your loving father's advice, that by the labor of obedience you may return to Him from whom you had departed by the sloth of disobedience.”
–St. Benedict of Nursia, The Rule of Saint Benedict
