On the Friday of Easter Week, four of us were blessed to visit Gooseberry Falls at high water. We were (in order, below) Jayne Erickson (affiliate) and Sisters Luella Wegscheid, Barbara Higgins, and Jeanne Ann Weber.
I was inspired to write this meditation:
Rushing root beer rivers and gushing water falls, bless the Lord
Brilliant warming sun and chill-filled breezes, bless the Lord
Granite rocks and steep inclines, bless the Lord
Evergreens and budding deciduous, bless the Lord.
Admiring and awe-struck humanity, bless the Lord
All creation, bless and praise God’s glory!
We also sang a catchy and meaningful hymn written by our associate, Jayne Erickson, during April, 2019. It is called Dawning of a New Day.
It is the dawning of a new day
Rejoice! The Son is risen
A day of celebration –
Salvation for us all
(Chorus) Singing alleluia, Jesus is alive!
Singing alleluia
He reigns in paradise. Alleluia!
Look now the tomb is empty
The power of love has won
The darkness has been shattered
Lift up your hearts and sing.
Praise be to the Father!
Praise be to the Son!
Praise be to the Spirit!
Praise the Three in One!
