Can you imagine if Jesus hadn’t risen from the dead? No? Neither can I. Everything I know, everything I am is because Jesus is risen. Without the Resurrection, I am sure that two plus two would still equal four, but it wouldn’t matter. If Jesus hadn’t risen from the dead maybe Abner Doubleday would still have invented baseball, but who would care. If God hadn’t raised Him up things would not be right.
“But God raised Him up” (Acts 2:25) and because of that things are right. Because God raised Him up everything has been restored, everything has its meaning, and we can trust in the goodness of creation. Because God raised Him up every believer can have a sure hope of resurrection and eternal life. Because God raised Him up each of us can have a love relationship with the heavenly Father. Because God raised Him up, our life in Him is filled with meaning and purpose.
