The other day I saw an ant walking across the floor of an elevator, and I wondered about his life. Will he live his whole life, however long an ant’s life is, on this elevator? Does he think he is going places as he simply rides up and down? Does he think this elevator is the expanse of the whole world?
We were not created to be like that ant on the elevator. We are not meant to think life is only about our little space, our little worries. We are not to spend our life just going through the motions, going from place to place, from moment to moment. We were created for much more than that. Jesus came that I might have life and live it more abundantly. (John 10:10).
Here are some lessons that came to me as I thought more about that elevator ant.
- Remember that Jesus has promised everyone who follows Him the ability to live life to the fullest.
- Open yourself to receive God’s love for you each and every day.
- Trust in God’s goodness all the time, especially when things get tough.
- Expect that God will expand your world, your thoughts, your vision all through life.
- Allow the Holy Spirit to empower you to live a life that reflects God’s Will for you.
- Declare your commitment to Christ and live that commitment.
- Pray believing God will answer your prayers at the right time and in the right ways as you continue to trust Him each day.
