“What did you get for Christmas?” is one of the most common questions asked this time of year. Whether in the office break room or on the school playground, conversations are filled with stories about gifts received.

It is fun and exciting to receive new gifts. And, in a way, God delights in giving us gifts too. Each day, God breathes new life into us—refreshing our spirits and inviting us into new challenges and opportunities. These gifts may not come wrapped like the latest tech gadget or interactive toy, but they are no less meaningful.

Most importantly, we are reminded that God gave us the greatest gift of all on the first Christmas—the gift of Jesus.

So, this year, when someone asks, “What did you get for Christmas?” don’t forget that you can always say, “I got Jesus.”
