If you take a look around the Monastery grounds you will see beautiful flowers, well kept lawns, and manicured bushes, most of which are thanks to Sister Theresa (Teri) Spinler. Sister Teri, with several other volunteers, gives God, the creator of all beauty, a helpful hand in keeping things looking lovely around St. Scholastica Monastery.
She even brings her care of nature indoors by tending to the plants and flowers in Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel, for which she creates lovely floral arrangements.
Along with working on the Monastery grounds, Sister Teri also cares for property at the McCabe Renewal Center.
When I asked Sister Teri about her work, her ministry in the great outdoors she said,
“Being out in the garden, I experience God’s presence as I feel the soil, hear nature’s sounds,
breathe in her fragrance and behold the beauty that renews and refreshes me. I am immersed
in the miracle and mystery of life.”
Oh….that’s how her garden grows!
