Stanbrook Hall Reunion Tea 2010

by admin on July 29, 2010

On Saturday, July 24, approximately 56 graduates from Stanbrook Hall High School gathered to enjoy an All-Class Reunion Tea in Rockhurst Dining Room of St. Scholastica Monastery.

Stanbrook Hall graduated young women from 1938 until 1967. This year was the 50th anniversary of the graduation of the Class of 1960. They and graduates from various other years between 1939 and 1964 re-established friendships and caught up with each other. Some of the Sisters who taught at Stanbrook Hall attended, and a special treat especially for the Class of 1960, was the attendance of Sister Jeanne Marie Lortie.

One graduate came from as far away as Florida, another from Arizona, and another from California. As they chatted with each other, enjoyed the buffet, and laughed or sighed at the memories, it was apparent that the Benedictine teaching Sisters had done a very fine job of preparing these women for their future.

I was a member of the class of 1960, but transferred to East High for my last two years. I would love to reconnect with classmates, many of whom were my classmates from kindergarten at Holy Rosary. I and my friend Sheila Perry Anderson visited with Sister Jean Marie five years ago. It was delightful!
Who are the classmates in the photo?
